Anyone who has ever gone to YouTube to find an authentic Trinbagonian recipe has surely come across Trini Cooking with Natasha.
I credit Natasha and her brilliant cooking channel with teaching me how to prepare many local and international dishes – my personal favourite is her Trini homemade doubles recipe.
Imagine ‘feeling for doubles’ at any given time and being able to whip up a batch at home, complete with sweet and savoury tamarind chutney and a good splash of pepper sauce. Heaven!
Edit: Congratulations to Natasha for being featured in Forbes on 28th February 2022! Keep doing what you do -inspiring many around the globe and making us Trinis proud!

Interview with Natasha Laggan of Trini Cooking with Natasha
Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a Mother and wife who loves to cook and recreate recipes from other cultures. I love cooking, travel, meeting other foodies and lifestyle.
How did you discover your love for cooking?
I won’t say I discovered, more that I loved to dine out and I also appreciated a home cooked meal. Coming from a family with a culinary background, I would say it’s second nature.
What made you decide to start your YouTube channel, Trini Cooking With Natasha?
My friends needed my recipes. They liked how I would make dishes and I decided (after video calling failed), that putting it on YouTube it would always be there for them to replay even if I wasn’t available to do a video call.
Have there been opportunities that have come to you as a result of sharing your recipes online?
I have had so many great opportunities. Collaborations with other foodies, being able to reveal myself on a local show called Eat ah Food in Trinidad and a big foodie group Foodie Nation.
There are other great foodies that I was fortunate enough to meet and now are friends with.
I have also been able to work with companies both in and out of Trinidad and even use their products in my recipes.
I was also recognized by the Newsday Womens Magazine and was interviewed by DJ Yuri B from Red Apple Radio Station based in Texas.
Please share with us one of your favourite recipes from your YouTube channel, Trini Cooking With Natasha.
My favourite recipe on my channel is my Cassava Pone. It was the first recipe I uploaded.
Do you have other interests?
Travel, shopping, helping the needy and donating.
What advice would you give to our readers to take the leap and go after their dreams?
If you have a dream go for it, nothing is impossible.
Yes, there may be others who are doing the same thing you would like to do, but it wont be your way. So just do it the way you would and do it 110%.
Always strive to grow and learn so that you can accomplish more and you will look back at your growth and feel proud of what you accomplished.
Visualize what you want and where you want to be or go – want it really bad and the universe will make it happen. I am telling you this from experience. Whatever I want I visualize and it comes to fruition. Remember you have to put in the work, it won’t just fall in your lap.
